EN "Desplumada" is, above all, a narrative about resilience, struggle, empathy, friendship and hope. Focused on middle grade children, the story involves Rosa, a strong, shy and smart girl, who lives with her family in the Brazilian backlands and faces serious challenges and adversities: such as the fight for land, the scarcity of water and the lack of opportunities. But Rosa finds a special friend, Guto, and together they face the challenges and establish a powerful bond of friendship, which becomes even stronger with the arrival of Uzu, a baby vulture adopted by the duo.
PT "Desplumada" é, acima de tudo, uma narrativa sobre resiliência, luta, empatia, amizade e esperança. Focada no público infantojunvenil, a história é narrada por Rosa, uma menina forte, tímida e esperta, que vive com sua família no sertão e enfrenta sérios desafios e adversidades: como a luta pela terra, a escassez de água e a falta de oportunidades. Mas Rosa encontra um amigo especial, Guto, e juntos eles enfrentam os desafios e estabelecem um vínculo de amizade poderoso, que se torna ainda mais forte com a chegada de Uzu, um filhote de urubu adotado pela dupla.

EN As it is a strong and striking story, the illustrations needed to bring a less delicate and soft atmosphere, however, they still needed to speak well to the imagination of readers between 11 and 14 years old. With this in mind and using Cordel Literature and the brazilian Armorial Movement as inspiration, all illustrations were produced using a digital woodcut technique developed especially for the book.
PT Por tratar-se de uma história forte e impacitante, as ilustrações precisavam trazer uma atmosfera menos delicada e suave, no entanto, precisavam ainda assim conversar bem com o imaginário de leitores entre os 11 e 14 anos. Pensando nisso e utilizando como inspiração a Literatura de Cordel e o Movimento Armorial, todas as ilustrações foram produzidas a partir de uma técnica de xilogravura digital desenvolvida especialmente para o livro.
